About Kakolat Degree College
An institution founded on the belief that access to good higher education can transform a family, a village and a region.
Kakolat Degree College is a co-educational institution of higher learning located in Nawada, Bihar, established and managed by the Magadh Nirman Foundation, a registered charitable trust.
Nawada district, though rich in history and natural beauty, has long faced a shortage of quality institutions for undergraduate study. Many students, especially girls and first-generation learners, are forced to discontinue education after Class XII or travel long distances to neighbouring districts. Kakolat Degree College was conceived to change that — to bring a well-run, affordable, discipline-oriented college to the doorstep of the community.
The college takes its name from the Kakolat Falls, the celebrated waterfall of Nawada. Like the falls, we believe in constant movement, natural strength and clarity of purpose. Our emblem carries the graduation cap, the open book and the laurel — symbols of learning, knowledge and achievement — around the letters KD.
Academic programmes follow the curriculum and examination system of Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, the state university for the Magadh region, in the three streams of Arts, Science and Commerce.

Objectives of the College
- Provide undergraduate education in Arts, Science and Commerce in accordance with the university syllabus.
- Ensure that no deserving student is denied education for want of resources, through fee concessions and scholarship facilitation.
- Maintain modern infrastructure — library, laboratories, computer facilities and sports grounds.
- Promote co-curricular activities through NSS, cultural clubs, seminars and community outreach.
- Instil discipline, ethics and national values in students.
